Jerry More Nyazungu, known as "The Chartered Vendor", is a Zimbabwean sales consultant, coach and trainer, and the founder of business consultancy M&J Africa. A former Harare street vendor, he has helped more than 4,500 SMEs and trained over 100,000 people across Zimbabwe and Zambia, and is the author of four books on sales and business.
Jerry More Nyazungu, known as "The Chartered Vendor", is a sales consultant, sales coach and trainer, author and keynote speaker. Born in the village of Watsomba, he moved to Harare in 2005 and spent four years as a street vendor, an education in selling that no classroom could match. He later paired that street-smart instinct with formal business education, an approach that became his first book, The Chartered Vendor.
Today Jerry works with business owners, sales managers and front-line teams to find where sales are leaking and fix it. He has helped more than 4,500 SMEs and trained over 100,000 people, with clients including Econet, Old Mutual, CABS, Nyaradzo Group and Cresta Hotels. He is also the founder and Group CEO of M&J Africa, a business and management consultancy. His books include Selling Like A Vendor, Sales = Mjolo and Why African Businesses Die Young.
Jerry More Nyazungu is a sales consultant, sales coach and trainer, author and keynote speaker, widely known as "The Chartered Vendor". The name captures his belief that the best salespeople combine street-smart hustle with formal discipline.
Born in the village of Watsomba, Jerry moved to Harare in 2005 in search of opportunity. Between 2005 and 2009 he worked as a street vendor, selling airtime, bananas and sweets. Those years brought arrests, municipal crackdowns and physical abuse, and days when a single meal was a luxury. They also taught him how buyers think, how to handle objections, how to negotiate and how to keep going when the odds are stacked against you.
He went on to pursue formal business education and found that the two worlds made each other stronger. That idea became his first book, The Chartered Vendor, and the foundation of everything he teaches.
Through The Chartered Vendor, Jerry consults, coaches and trains sales teams and business owners across Zimbabwe and Zambia. His work ranges from customised in-house sales training and the 12-Week Sales Institute to sales consulting engagements, one-on-one coaching and business seminars such as the Sell More Summit. He has helped more than 4,500 SMEs and trained over 100,000 people, for organisations including Econet Wireless, Old Mutual, CABS, Nyaradzo Group, Fidelity Life, Cresta Hotels, WestProp and Baker's Inn.
Jerry is also a business consultant. In 2014 he founded M&J Africa, a business and management consultancy operating in Zimbabwe and Zambia, where as Group CEO he advises organisations on strategy development, digital optimisation, marketing, accounting and audits.
Jerry is the author of four books: The Chartered Vendor, Selling Like A Vendor, Sales = Mjolo and Why African Businesses Die Young. He speaks regularly at conferences and corporate events, and mentors young salespeople and entrepreneurs to build businesses that stand the test of time.
