How to Win Sales, Arguments & Marriage: Just Say ‘I Agree’

In sales and in life there’s one golden rule that will save you stress, customers, and even your marriage: always agree.

Picture this.
James’ wife comes running with excitement:

“Daddy, may we please go to Victoria Falls for the holidays?”

Now, James is broke. Bank account on life support. But instead of thinking smart, he blurts out:
“Are you crazy? Do you know how much we earn? Do you see enough money here for Victoria Falls?”

Boom . Mood gone. Wife frustrated. Holiday cancelled. Marriage shaking like a kombi with loose bolts.

But imagine if James played it differently:
“Look honey, I agree with you Victoria Falls is a dream! The bungee jumping, the helicopter rides, the spray of the Falls it’s magical. But for now, our budget is tight. How about we warm up with Mbuzi Game Park first?”

Same reality. Different approach. And guess what? No fight. Wife still smiling. Marriage intact.

The same thing works in sales.
When your customer says:
“Your product is expensive!”
Don’t argue. Just say:
“I totally agree with you, sir. It is an investment. But here’s the value you’ll get…”

See? By agreeing, you disarm the customer. You lower their guard. You make them feel heard. And once you have their ears, you can win their heart and their wallet.

So here’s your assignment: for the next 48 hours, agree with everyone.
If someone says you’re ugly, just smile and say:
“You’re right, my brother. God made me this way so people don’t fight over me.”
Peace restored. No energy wasted.

Salespeople, remember this:

  • Agreement creates peace.
  • Agreement creates trust.
  • Agreement creates sales.

Whether in the office, in the market, or at homesometimes the best way to win… is not to fight.
